Evendale Recreation Commission
December 6, 2005
Called to order at 6:03pm
Roll Call: Michelle Gottschlich, Mike Flavin, Wayne Mosley, Beth McDaniel, David Nichols, Mary Lou Isaac. Absent: Jeff Albrinck, Molly McMahon
Recognition of visitors: none
Motion to approve minutes made by Michelle Gottschlich; seconded by Wayne Mosley. Motion passed.
Additions to the agenda: none
New Business:
· The Mayor and David Nichols met, discussed the fitness bid proposal, and agreed to present council with a one year contract from Tri-Health/Bethesda Healthcare, Inc. If Commission, the Director, and Mayor find Tri-Health’s performance during 2006 satisfactory, a 2007 contract to Tri-Health would be presented to council in December, 2006.
Old Business:
· Tri-Health report mentions temperature concerns (fluxional) in the Group Exercise Room. The yoga class had been moved to another area in the center.
Trials Committee Reports-
· Second open house forum held Tuesday, December, 6th at 7:00pm.
· All reviews and comments have been positive.
Director’s Report:
· Center hours during Village holidays will be reviewed by the sub-committee next summer. Several people showed up after the center closed on Thanksgiving Friday. The facility closed at 2:00pm; consider closing at 5:00pm.
· Flex into Fitness starts in January, 2006. It will include the Tuesday evening Step, Tuesday evening Spinning, Tuesday evening Pilates, Wednesday evening CSI (Cardio-Strength Interval), Saturday morning Muscle Class. All other classes will be individually purchased sessions. Programs will run ten weeks.
· New Commission members include Gus Janszen and Pam Meyers. Phi Lambda Pi member to be determined.
· Next meeting will be Thursday, January 19, at 6:30pm.

Open Discussion:
· Appreciation and thank you extended to Beth McDaniel and Mike Flavin for their dedication and input over the past four years.
2005 Goals & Objectives Reviewed:
· Fee review started and foundation laid for future reviews; at this time, current fees will remain unchanged.
· Communication – Website was updated, and now includes a notification email system.
· Sledding Hill – The hill is temporarily on hold; focus was shifted to the Evendale Trail project.
